A Tribute to Lep

After a comment on the performance of LEP some highlights of the LEP1 and LEP2 physics programmes are reviewed. The talk concentrates on the precision measurements at the Z resonance, two fermion production above the Z, W + W − production, ZZ production, indirect limits on the Higgs mass, LEP contributions to the exploration of the CKM matrix, and on the LEP measurements of αs.

Lessons Learned from Lep

LEP was commissioned in 1989 and closed down in November 2000. During this time it has operated in many different modes, with many different optics and at many different energies. Some of the lessons learnt that might be of general applicability are elucidated.

Hadronisation at Lep

An overview of recent results from LEP concerning the hadronisation process is presented. Emphasis is placed on the b-quark. The first presented analysis is the measurement of the b-quark fragmentation function.
